Re: Elysium
Keira couldn't help but wear an expression somewhere between a grimace and a smile.
"Hectic.. indeed. Despite all that though, I suppose some things have worked out well for which we can only be thankful."
It seemed like over the past year, her old mortal life was all starting to come back into her new one. She couldn't complain at being able to be with and be honest with friends and loved ones again.
"Something tells me your brand of fun is slightly less.. stressful?" Keira added with a grin.
Marie stopped to think a moment at the question posed to her and a smile slowly grew on her face. "Amazing!" she said finally with a impish gleam in her eyes.
"Definitely stronger, better.. healthier?" she laughed. "Like I could do anything!"

Re: Elysium
Keira chuckled at this. "Just remember to rein yourself in around normal people, hmm? We don't want to attract too much undue attention to ourselves."
Marie rolled her head at Keira sarcastically. Keira just smiled and shrugged back. She was kind of enjoying acting as the elder, the instructor. Marie was still naive when it came to this new life and Keira just found it fun to goad her old friend sometimes. She took a sip from her glass while glancing around the club.
"I wonder if any others will be joining us tonight..."

Re: Elysium
A gentlemen walks in wearing a made to fit Black as night suit with a blood red tie that looks good enough to drink. He complimented his suit with black expensive dress shoes and slicked back hair. Though his hair looked more naturally slicked back, rather then bedded down with product, almost oiled. With a charming smile he took in all that was before his gaze and made his way to an empty booth, he weaved in and out of the traffic of bodies with a predatory grace.
He clasped his hands together and once more took a look about him to see who was near and whom was mortal and whom was Kindred. Easier said than done. He heard this club was owned by a Clansmen, well he supposed if he were to be politically correct she would be clanswoman, but that was neither here nor there, and he no longer bothered with such trivialities outside the court room.
The music popped banged and throbbed in his ears. Modern day music was a blight that he would not even wish upon the most depraved fiends of the Sabbat. He supposed though that it would have to be tolerated, besides when he got back to his own haven he could sooth his fraying nerves with Beethoven or Bach as much as he wanted. If only meeting new Kindred and getting to know ones fellows was not required to make a city function. Oh well he thought lost in his personal reverie.

Re: Elysium
Keira watched as a poised figured entered the club. His dress seemed to be at least a couple of notches above the standard of the typical Kine who frequented the place. That's what caught her notice. Toreador like herself, Ventrue and a few other of the lesser clans sometimes dressed to a fault and could be too noticeable but this place, her club, was a safe haven for all Kindred.
She didn't say anything as she studied the man. Marie had been chatting away beside her as Keira watched but the childe soon fell silent. She had noticed as well and Keira smiled knowing her friend was learning skills that would help her to survive in her new life. Knowing who was Kindred and who wasn't was always a valuable ability.
Finally her childe spoke. "That guy in the suit.. Is he..?"
"Kindred?" Keira answered. "I'd wager so.. but I'd imagine we will be finding out at some point. He does rather stand out though, doesn't he?"
"Mmm..." Marie murmured in agreement.
Keira caught the stranger's gaze as it passed by and she gave him a slight nod of greeting.

Re: Elysium
Archon caught the glance of the woman whom met his gaze, and there was another with her, hmmm, lovers? Perhaps, more than likely Sire and childe, or a couple of the Kine wanting his attention either way they had it and were about to get it. Meeting someone whom was willing to lock eyes with a Ventrue was difficult in modern nights, especially when they discovered that you were Ventrue. Oh well, if lessors were unwilling to look him in the eye then they deserved to be Dominated.
Smiling at the pair of women looking at him, he raised his right hand subtly gestured for them to come to him, so as there would be no confusion Archon made a grand gesture with his left had to the rest of the booth space he had. He raised his brow letting it to the speaking of his offer for him.

Re: Elysium
Keira pursed her lips as the stranger gestured, bidding her and Marie to come to him. As if she was some lowly servant.. she, the one who ran this whole place, who had ties to the Prince of the city. She knew Marie was waiting for her lead; she tapped her fingernails against the table as she considered.
Finally she threw a sideways glance at her childe. "Wait here while I will go find out what this fellow wants." she told Marie and huffed her displeasure at the treatment quietly as she got up.
She strode confidently towards the stranger in his booth and stopped before him, not having taken his invitation to join him at the table. With arms cross, Keira gave the stranger smile with no hint of warmness.
"You are new here, yes? Welcome to The Rose and Thorn, my club." she said formally and pointedly. "I am Keira Kelly, the owner of this Elysium."
She had thrown that word in to see the stranger's reaction to it, and if he was Kindred as she suspected, she wanted to make a point that actions were being watched here and that all were expected to follow the laws of Elysium. She paused, waiting for the stranger to introduce himself.

Re: Elysium
Archon waited as the woman seemed to mull over whether or not to join him. Finally saying something to what Archon assumed was her child, if she was Kindred, she made her way over to him looking none to happy actually, hmmm, he must have ruffled her feathers so to speak.
She stopped in front of him and crossed her arms, apparently she did not like being summoned. If such a simple gesture as this made her ruffled, she must be young indeed. Archon smiled at her to attempt to assuage her anger. He stod up then and kissed her hand.
"Allow me to introduce my self. I Archon Hamilton recently arrived from London. I received word from one of the Elders of my Clan that I should come here and help with Ventrue efforts. If I have offended you my dear, I do so apologize, it was not my intention.
Your club you say, it is an honor indeed. Thank you for personally coming over to see me, should I have known whom you were I would have came to you gladly." Archon said betraying no sign that he was affected by the knowledge that he had inadvertently insulted the owner of this Elysium.

Re: Elysium
Keira tried not to show her surprise as the stranger kissed her hand. In this day and age, such a gesture was rare. She managed to master her anger, pushing it to the back of her consciousness as the man introduced himself.
She was instantly paused as he spoke his identity. Archon? Was that a title or a name? She decided it best to err on the side of caution and be at least cordial to this Archon Hamilton. At least he was English as well though, that was a nice plus.
"A fellow countryman. Always a pleasure." she said with a slight nod. This as much of an apology he was going to get for her response to him before. "I do need to return home to London myself one of these days. It's simply been years.... Oh well, no matter. " she said, finally taking a seat across from Archon.
She could almost feel Marie's eyes boring into the back of her head. She knew her childe's curiosity was something of a monster in itself and she would be wanting to come and meet the new Kindred. She almost smiled at the thought as she half glanced over her shoulder quickly.
"The Ventrue are of course always welcome here. I have heard about some big goings-on in your clan as of late." she continued. "I was absent my bartender and business partner this past week as she was away at some Ventrue affair."
Keira was interested in finding out what had been going on, especially what was drawing what seemed to be affluent members of the Ventrue bloodline to this city, but she knew it was unlikely that they would be so open-lipped about it.
Keira gave Archon a somewhat warmer smile as he apologized. "No worries, Mr. Hamilton. No offence taken. I understand the game of trying to find the social footing in a new place. It can be trying and mistakes are often made." she told him. "And of course, mistakes once fixed, can easily be forgiven."
"Can I offer you a drink, Mr. Hamilton?" she asked.

Re: Elysium
Archon smiled in his minds eye noting her sudden shock when he kissed her hand. If all Kindred were this easy to manipulate in this City his rise will be quick and sudden like an oncoming storm. His lips curved in a very subtle smirk at his own thoughts. The game of Jyhad, a game that he has played for ever two hundred years. Until he learned otherwise he considered himself the oldest Kindred in the City save for maybe the Prince.
As he introduced himself he noted another pause with her, excellent thought Archon. So she was educated enough in Kindred affairs to know what an Archon is. Good, hopefully the rumors will begin to fly now. Is he an Archon here to claim Praxis on Prince, if he is an archon what had happened in the City that would require his attention. Oh yes this would serve him well, not that he would ever dare dream of impersonating any Archon, he could not help after all what he was named.
"Aye, always a pleasure to meet a countrymen. And you should absolutely take time to go back and see London. Tis stunning at night, though not nearly as stunning as you are my dear Kelly. Seeing you reminds me of the elegance of the home I have left behind." Archon said nodding toward her
Archon stole a subtle glance over toward Keira's progeny noting that holes she was boring into the back of her Sire's skull. About the time Archon turned his attention back to Kelly he noticed that she too stole a glance at her childe. Archon was waiting for her invitation to join them yet it did not come, well played Kelly.
"Goings on you say? Yes I suppose that much is true. And thank you, it is good to know that us Blue Bloods will have a place in your establishment. One can never have to many allies in such times. Tell me, I have been told that the Prince here is Ventrue, is this true, and if so is there a Ventrue Primogen? I am just curious." Archon flashed her a charming smile
"Well I am certainly glad that I did not offend you, that would be a tragedy for both us I think. Your curiosity would never be sated and alas I would lose such beautiful company as yourself. I may not be a of Clan Toreador, but I know beauty when I see it." Archon playfully winked at Keira
"As for a drink, I would love one, but I doubt that you carry what my strict Ventrue diet allows, little known fact, Ventrue my dear, can only feed from a certain blood source. If we ingest any blood that is not of that source, we ex spell it immediately. So no offense, but I shall have to decline." Archon made sure to say politely and carefully, ever speaking with his honeyed tongue.

Re: Elysium
Keira gave Archon a thanking nod at his compliments. This one was a charmer, that was for sure. She'd definitely have to watch her back around him. This conversation definitely had the feel of two predators sizing each other up, which was precisely what it was.
"The Ventrue and the Toreador have a long history of alliances, often beneficial." she replied. "And yes, Prince Winters is Ventrue as well. There is a Ventrue Primogen in the city though I have not had cause to cross paths with her as of yet. Francesca Picerno. You would probably have to as Anna," Keira said, indicating the blonde bartender behind the bar, "more about the Primogen though. I hear things of course but one can only take rumour with a grain of salt as they say."
"You truly do have a silver tongue Mr. Hamilton." she said with a smile. "Quite charming indeed."
Knowing when you were being played was the most important part of resisting it, she of course didn't let on but kept on smiling.
"Mmm.. of course, the diet." Keira said. "Again, no offence taken. I would imagine such a restriction could become quite a nuisance. In any case, you are free to feed among the Kine here if you would like; though there is to be no killing, no feeding to the point of injury and as always, it must not be seen as what it is. As a Ventrue, I'm sure you know the rules but it is my policy to remind all new Kindred who enter my club of these laws. This place is my responsibility and I will not shirk from it."
Suddenly Keira felt someone behind her. She knew who it would be. Turning around, her suspicion was confirmed. "Marie, dear." she said with just a hint of annoyance in her voice. "I'd like you to meet Archon Hamilton."
Marie smiled graciously and held out her hand to shake Archon's. Keira was really going to have to teach her old friend some of the necessary etiquette. Though Marie appeared fairly older than Keira did, she still acted on impulse far more. Keira had always suspected that was due to her friend's American background. She just gave Archon an apologetic smile.
