Nora followed behind Chris, like usual, but kept glancing back at where the car had gone. The feeling she'd had from the vision earlier had only increased with seeing the Cainites in that vehicle. This might have been an Anarch city but she could feel the Sabbat closing in even still. As they came around the corner, Christine's words of chaos had been right. There looked to have been maybe fifty or sixty people having a block party out on the street but now a score of them lay unmoving, in pools of blood which appeared black in the night. Nora could only guess that the Cainites had opened fire on a crowd as there didn't seem to be any pattern to the bodies; a handful of men, a few women and even two or three children. People, probably friends and family members, cried and screamed as they tried to tend to the wounded or find others amid the chaos. In the distance now, sirens could be heard; likely police and ambulances, Nora thought. Sirens so different than the ones she'd grown up with... Seeing the carnage though didn't phase her in the slightest. They'd seen and participated in worse in the time with their own Pack. The ones here who lived through this would have their lives, the ones who were dead had no more suffering to do, Nora thought. Lucky them. "Nothing we can do.." she told Christine. She really didn't want to be around when the cops came and started looking for witnesses... potentially detaining people for hours...

This sight stood unpleasant with Christine… It showed weakness on both ends, the attackers and the victims themselves. Former picked on people way too weaker than themselves, latter hardly had tried to give resistance it seemed. Also the fact that there were children… Children were never combatants… “Cowards.” Was what Christine thought of the attackers.
“Yes, let’s go. I have things I need to check when we get home. Something strange is going on here… very strange.” Christine said with grim voice. There was something off about the whole situation and she didn’t like the fact they were headed right in the middle of it, without knowing the whole truth.

Nora continued to look at the chaos that had ensued, from what had appeared to be a drive-by shooting by the Cainites, dispassionately. She really didn't feel one thing or another for these people who lay dead, dying, bleeding or grieving. It was a strange sense of coldness that gripped her soul and left her devoid of emotion at that moment. She could hear the screams and cries but they only annoyed her rather than drew sympathy. She was bored.. that was all she could think about. There was nothing for her here, nothing to amuse her, nothing to keep her interest. She wanted to go back to her bunnies... or.. anything else. As horrible as it had been with the pack back in New York.. at least there had been amusement there. Here, there seemed to be none. The few nights they had been here had been filled mostly with tasks and she was beginning to really hate it. She was very close to railing against the path they had ended up on. She didn't care about these Anarchs or this sense of decency that Christine seemed to be up on; she merely wanted to go out, have some fun, act as she saw fit and.. yeah! she thought, the defiance rising at least a hint of emotion within her. She grimaced, looking over at the Lasombra. "Why are we even doing any of this?" she asked. "What's the point of bowing to these Anarchs wills? Wasn't the whole reason we came out here to escape being controlled?" she asked.

"The path to our freedom itself is through this.. chore." Christine replied." We are former Sabbat, as such naturaly we are probably under close watch even now. This task I assume is a way to verify our intentions... in a way. It is a ' you scratch my back, I will scratch yours' type of situation. We do this and we will be left alone... Something else is amiss here though..." Christine stated, looking around." Tomorrow night I will pay Isaac a visit. I will try to get any previous information he has on this so called hidden pack here."

Nora crossed her arms and turned her back, pouting. "Fine." she said. She still didn't like it and would have preferred just getting out of there too. She figured they had already earned their path to freedom by killing Samuel and escaping New York; that should have been more than enough. To come here and have things dictated to them was just.. wrong, she thought. But if Christine was going to, maybe she'd stick by the Lasombra, for now at least. She still felt the pull of the Vaulderie to Christine which kept her there. "You think he'll actually help you?" she asked doubtfully. "You know we are just pawns to him. They probably already have knowledge of this pack and they are just sending us along to test our loyalties.. Maybe we should seek out this pack ourselves and see what they are up to. We are... were Sabbat after all. Maybe they are a better pack than the one we left.." she said, staring off into the night at nothing in particular.

“Help us?” Christine said aloud.” Not really, but considering he gave us this task, he should at least’ give us ‘the information the have until now.” Christine said with cold voice.” Besides, I’m getting the feeling something else is going on here. Something we are not aware of.”
“Not possible… how are we going to explain why we are here to them? We are traitors the moment we left. Besides they are under the control of a ductus there. Even if they do accept us, we will not have any position… It might actually turn out for the worse even when compared with our last pack. At least by playing the anarch’s game right now. We will have a ‘good amount’ of freedom afterwards.”
"So what are you going to do with the furballs tonight?"

Nora just kind of shrugged; a gesture that said she'd go along with it but she still thought what they were doing was somewhat unnecessary and nothing was really going to change her mind on that. She had more important things to think about. She started moving away from the crime scene, heading back the direction they had come from. Sirens could be heard in the distance and getting louder, responding probably to multiple 911 calls. "Some bunnies have a date with a monster." she replied, turning her back on the recent events of the night. She began to grow somewhat more excited as she thought about what she had planned. "Poppy needs to be fed.. properly and Peter is going to be test subject number one." she explained with a bit of an evil laugh.

"Good idea to start with a test subject first. It wont be good if they were to die at once." Christine said, looking in the direction of all the sirens."
"Say, want to take a cab back home?" Christine asked as she wasn't really in the mood to stick around this part of town anymore.

Nora glanced over her shoulder, back the way they had come from before turning back and nodding. "Cab is good.. but probably should get further away first." she said, somewhat more lucid for once. "Don't want the bobbies looking into who picked up cab fare near the goings-on..." she explained as they walked. Not only that but this wasn't a nice neighbourhood, she didn't see too many vehicles passing by.. except... She ducked back into a dark corner, pulling her friend with her just as a police car with lights and siren speed by. Wouldn't do to be seen either. "Sorry that..." she said after it had passed. They continued on, and at the next intersection, she headed in a different direction. She didn't want to go back towards the building where they'd.. massacred those criminals either. This direction turned out to be a good choice; as it headed slightly uphill, eventually they came to nicer buildings with more traffic. They flagged the first cab they saw and hopped in. Nora could only hope that Christine had some money left. Too bad they hadn't taken any from those pimps. It wasn't too long before they were dropped off in front of their new home. Nora got out first but remained defensive, depending on what would happen now when the cabbie asked for his fare...

Christine quickly took out the last of their money. After paying the bill, all that was left was just under 2 dollars. This was with the things requiring money for a while. Christine quickly shook her head.
"I suppose I will have to speed up my coding work. We might need some cash soon. I may also search for a more formal job after we do this thing with the task, given to us."She said as she took out the keycard for the entrace of the building and their room, opening the way.
"Hey there furballs, what have you been doing all night?" She said, once they were inside their new home and she saw the bunnies. Afterwards she quickly threw the heavy clothes aside, changing into a under vest and some shorts she found in the clothes that were still left in the drawers. Then she quickly began to work on the small coding job she managed to get in the web. Being a freelance required some time to get known, and being how they were. She had to begin from ground zero, just in case someone from the Sabbat decided to check on her past..aliases she used.
