Keira Kelly

Post by Keira Kelly »

Keira Kelly
Nationality : English
Apparent Age : 33 years old
Actual Age : 54 years (born 1959)
Clan : Toreador (if you hadn't guessed.. or read...)
Appearance : Dark hair and dark eyes (check out my avatar)

Keira was in a moderately successful female duo rock/pop band in the early 90's when she was Embraced for her musical talent. She still grieves all that she lost in mortal life and what she could have had as her music career had been rising quickly at the time. She can't go out much for fear of being recognized as she is believe missing and dead, there would have been no way for her to continue her mortal life as a vampire. Bursting into flame or some such during a day concert would not have been a good thing!

She was well taught by her sire in the years she was with him after being Embraced but he now has a new protege, as is the wont of most Toreador, though that matters little to Keira now. Her music and her club are all that are important.

-------

More recently, she has started taking an opportunity to begin performing at her own club.. so far.. as an alter-ego named Victoria Pierson. This persona is blonde with contacts, usually going with blue eyes.

History

Born in Leatherhead, England in 1959, Keira was an only child of a working couple. She went to school to study pre-med but quickly found her passion in music. Joining a number of bands during her time in university, she eventually teamed up with a fellow female musician.

Through the late 80's and early 90's, Keira was one half of an iconic female pop rock band, though she was the driving creative force behind the music writing. Keira played bass and electric guitar aside her bandmate, achieving some degree of fame. While well-represented in the music industry, they were striving to catch the eye of some of the biggest record producers of the time while on tour with their latest album.

----------------------------------------------------

One night, after a late concert at Earl's Court in London, Keira was backstage. As she was packing up her guitars from the show, she noticed a man regarding her from the shadows. She stood up thinking that maybe he was one of those long sought-after executives from one of the bigger record companies. He certainly looked very well-dressed and classy. He started towards her, slowly yet purposefully, his gaze never wavering from her.

As he stopped in front of her, studying her, she was suddenly somewhat worried. An exec would be introducing themselves by now, trying to win her over to their studio. This man had yet to say a word and had an almost.. hungry look in his eyes as he stared. Keira hoped that maybe he was a fan, maybe a VIP with a backstage pass. She tried to engage him in conversation, asking him his name, how he had liked the concert. He did not respond and just kept staring at her. There had been episodes with eccentric fans killing rock stars before... Keira started to back away, reaching out to grab anything she could find within reach, but failing to find anything in her panic.

She turned and ran, down one of the back hallways, towards her dressing room. There should have been security everywhere through this area but as she ran, there was no one to be seen. Arriving at her dressing room, she glanced behind her. The man had not followed. She shut the door to the room, making sure she locked it. Turning back towards the room, she moved towards the couch. On the small coffee table in front of it, there was a phone. She would phone the security office for the facility. Keira was not going to leave without some big muscle this night.

As she picked up phone, it was ripped out of her hand from behind. Spinning around, she gasped as she saw the man standing there. Glancing towards the door, it was still closed and locked. How could he have gotten here first though? He stared deep into her eyes and whispered one word: "Come". In that instant, even with how much Keira wanted nothing so much as to get away, she felt herself compelled to go to the man. Almost watching from outside herself, she walked towards him. He ran a finger down the side of her face when she was stopped in front of him.

"Your music calls to me... speaks to me... I have heard nothing like it before. Come to me and make your music for eternity."
Post-Embrace

The next thing she knew, she was waking up amid plush, red pillows in a large unfamiliar, ornate room. Raising herself on one elbow, Keira realized she felt.. different... She felt stronger and more energetic than she had ever felt in her life, but at the same time, she was cold and felt a strange sense of detachment fighting for control of her mind. Her neck.. she remembered something about her neck. Reaching up and feeling, she could discern a slight aberration where there had been nothing but smooth skin before.

Had she been drugged? How else would that man have gotten her here without her knowledge. Going back to her little bit of medical training, Keira put two fingers on the inside of her wrist, checking her pulse, wanting to make sure that any depressant-type drug was out of her system by now, in case she had to act quickly. She could feel nothing in her wrist. She tried feeling around, thinking she must have just missed the radial artery but still could find nothing. Switching arms yielded the same result. What the hell was going on!? She started to panic when she could not find the carotid pulse in her neck. Something was really wrong here, really wrong with her.

Another feeling was building in her, a hunger.. for something, but what she couldn't immediately place.

Unable to make any sense of what was wrong, she decided to investigate the room instead. The only word she could think of to describe it was opulent. She was on a four-poster bed with red cloth drapings all over it. The bed was covered with large, red down-filled pillows and the mattress underneath was the softest Keira had ever felt. The room in general appeared to be covered in an off-white marble. There were gold-framed paintings of breath-taking landscapes and beautiful people hung around the room, obviously painted by masters. Finally something caught her eye in one corner.

Slightly out of place, and yet in a way, not at all, sat a gleaming white Fender Stratocaster guitar on a guitar stand. It looked perfectly new, as if it had never even been held before. She couldn't resist. Getting out of the bed and walking over to it, she ran her hand along the smooth walnut of the fret board and along the curves of the body of the instrument.

"I see I was not wrong in choosing you." came a voice from behind. She spun around and there was the same man from before. No doubt about it now, he had taken her.. and yet, she felt some sort of strange connection, a bond to him.

-----------------------------------

Now, 19 years later, Keira has grown more accustomed to life as a Kindred. She has yet to sire any childer of her own, but has a huge house with many ghoul servants who cater to her every wish. You'd think that this would be the life but Keira grieves her lost chance at reaching the peak of her music career. She can no longer share, or tour with her music in the mortal world. She had been well-known enough before her Embrace, at least in England, that she can no longer walk in public without trying to dress inconspicuously.
