Post Re: [WtA]Bastet: Chaos Control
`I am fine.` Amare said as he wiped some blood from his mouth with the back of his sword hand. The dead bodies of soldiers around them let off a foul stench of iron as blood was literally everywhere. Amare's white shirt was now crimson, with his rusted sword a nasty colouration of red with brown; even the Lion's dreadlocks bore the blood of his enemies, the worthless guerilla leeches only seeking destruction upon a land already facing its doom. It was distasteful, Amare thought, as he saw a couple of the townspeople peeping from their windows at the scene. From their distance they wouldn't be able to discern his Sokto form, and as quick as they were to curiously peep the scene, so were they to return to whatever they had been doing.

`The humvee..` Amare trailed as he walked over to the humvee, peering into the windows. He was elated to see Imamu and Ekua still alive, even if they looked utterly horrified for their lives. `You're alright now. We got rid of those parasites.` Amare said as the two teenage soldiers looked up from their cowering positions, themselves elated to see the Simba standing by the humvee, ever their humble protector. Amare stepped back from the humvee and walked back to Adedayo as the two teens exited the humvee, slowly regaining their composure. Though they were experienced in battle, they were still young and prone to freezing when under assault, especially by that being they had just fought.

`That thing.. guy.. man.. he had to be another shifter or something.` Amare told Adedayo as he spotted movement in the corner of his eye. In the distance he spotted the image of a cheetah, running tremendously fast towards them. There was no way a wild cheetah would be running so fast towards a group of people, especially in a populated area like a city. `Adedayo, look... that's.. Enuka?!` he asked as the cheetah got ever closer and stopped just before them. Now there was no doubt that it was their companion. `Swara, you've returned. Did you manage to find what you were looking for in that direction?` Amare asked, curious at the cheetahs supremely rapid pace.

The teens looked on in confusion and horror as they witnessed Amare call the cheetah by the same name he had called the woman accompanying them. Imamu and Ekua looked at each other in a slight look of horror as they had difficulty understanding what was going on. Amare had carelessly brought them out of the humvee at the wrong time, for their young human minds would not be able to handle what was going on, especially after the monstrosity that was Thorne. Such a thing had passed his mind and the teens found themselves slowly backing away from the group.

Post Re: [WtA]Bastet: Chaos Control
Enuka slowed to a halt, finally having found the other two Kin and shifted back to her human form, uncaring right now of the Simba and Bagheera's companions. She had more pressing concerns than two unimportant humans. She shifted back to her human form as the Simba spoke to her. She couldn't help but strike Amare with a bitter, resentful look as she panted to get her breath back. It had been a long run and on a hot day. "That and that which I wish I had not seen..." she answered harshly.

She was angry and perhaps wrongfully taking it out on the lion. She was angry that she had to have been alone, to discover what she had. The anger also served to distract her from the horror. Well, perhaps this day, these two would learn about their error in their priorities. If they didn't, they would be of no further help to her. If they couldn't appreciate the peril to all Bastet....

She turned her eyes away, to the ground as she huffed. "If you are finished here with your trivialities, there is something that you must bear witness to. My word alone may not be believed. We must hurry though. Before they discovered that had had been there... before they hide the..." she paused, remembering the carnage. Suddenly, she was starting to feel sick to her stomach again, which showed in her expression. She glanced up sharply, meeting the eyes of both males. "I pray you have not recently eaten..." she warned them.

Suddenly she looked world-weary. "Come with me and you will see what we fight against, the true dangers that are out there..." she said. "The true threats to Kin and Kinfolk both..."

( I'll leave it off here cause I don't know what those two humans are doing and our bastet will likely be driving? to where Enuka had visited. )

Post Re: [WtA]Bastet: Chaos Control
The two teens continued to back away from the group as Amare finally realized he made a grave mistake. He has kept his Sokto form mostly hidden from them, making sure to stay far away from them so they do not take notice. Now, however, he had remained in Sokto right before them and to add to that, Enuka has shifted right in front of them. The horror that filled their expressions could hardly be expressed in mere words. Both looked to each other, as frightened as they could ever be, and took leave of the area, running for their lives as they ran out of the city.

Amare felt the movement and turned to see them jetting. `No, wait!` he shouted out to them as he took a step towards them and instinctively took a sprinting stance. He stopped however when he looked down at his claws, realizing that they had now seen what he truly is, in the closest distance possible. The two teenage soldiers he had rescued and travelled with for some time, assuming himself as their protector, have left him without hesitation. That hit a nerve, for the lion seemed to not be able to keep people around him. For some reason, they would always abandon him and he would be left alone. With his palm sweaty, he sheathed his rusted, bloody sword into the scabbard positioned horitzontally on his lower back and looked at Enuka disdainfully.

He wouldn't give her this look in an act of blame for the leaving of the teens, but more for the continued, subtle annoyance she displayed. `To this point I have only treated you with the utmost respect and kindness, Swara,` he said, his fierce amber eyes staring Enuka down into her soul. `I'd appreciate if you treated me the same. If you have an issue with me then air it now. I've done nothing to you. If you truly wish for us to see what you have encountered, then we.. well I, gladly will. There are ways tof speaking without sounding ill of will.` the lion said, careful not to speak for the Bagheera. While Amare did consider himself their informal leader, he would not speak as if he was truly their leader, to not impose his will on his comrades.

Amare's pride was but a fragile thing and he had just so much patience for somebody who would try to disrespect him repeatedly. Though he would never initiate a strike against Enuka, lest she struck first, he had to make it clear that he was not going to be treated like a child. Her concerns did sound dire and Amare would like nothing more than to help and assess the situation she spoke of. He let go of his semi-hostile demeanour and gestured with a head nod towards one of the humvees that the guerilla soldiers arrived in. `If it is so dire as you say, let's move quick. This humvee works, let's go.` Amare said, rushing over to one of the working humvees, hopping into the drivers seat.

Though the lion did not have experience driving this exact vehicle, he had driven vehicles like jeeps and old, beater cars that were common to see in the DRC. He did not own any official license but Amare was self sufficient and this was not the time to doubt himself. He was going to take charge and drive this damn thing, no matter what it took. Amare waited for his comrades to jump into the vehicle and shifted it into reverse, turning until the humvee was facing in the direction that enuka came running from. Once shifted into drive, the lion floored the gas petal, pushing the monstrous jeep to his speed limits as they headed towards Enuka situation.

Post Re: [WtA]Bastet: Chaos Control
Upon hearing that the Simba was okay the Bagheera quickly began to walk halfway but stopped to look around to see if he could spot anymore hostiles but was more focus on catching his breath. The Bageera looked at the Simba then back to looking around listening to what he was saying. 'What ever he was he's going to be a threat.' he thought to himself. He didn't know what that thing was but he knows he is going to kill it no matter the cost.

Adedayo looked at the cheetah and gave it a look waiting to see if it was really her. The Bagheera looked around after he heard the Simba call out to the kids and began to wonder how things are going to turn out for them now. He turned his attention back to the Swara and began to listened to what she had to saw but he couldn't help but notice the tone in her voice but didn't pay it any mind for the moment. He looked at the Simba to see his reaction to everything that was going on right now. He continued to listen to the Swara but after what she said he answered her saying in a somewhat low voice "As if our matters are less trivial then yours."

As soon as he heard the Simba he quickly began to approach the humvee and jumped in the back thinking what they are going to see what the Swara was going on about. The Bagheera couldn't help think about that thing him and the Simba fought. He wanted to know what it was and how to take it out to find its weakness to use to his advantage. Adedayo always liked having information on his enemies and on his allies to use to his advantage and to better his friends.

Post Re: [WtA]Bastet: Chaos Control
Enuka knew there wouldn't be much way to convince a hard-headed Simba unless he saw the truth with his own eyes and so she didn't press her accusations, knowing that and it really wasn't their fault for not understanding the real issues. Perhaps it was the fault of their Kuashas for having failed to teach them properly. On the other hand, she overheard the Bagheera's half whispered words and she rounded on Adedayo with a hard look. As if her matters were less trivial than theirs... "They are, Bagheera. Far more important. And they should be your matters as well..." she said in an almost regretful tone. She waved a hand at where they were, indicating whatever petty monkey matters these two Bastet had been involved in. "You must learn... The matters of the spirits affect all, Kin, Kinfolk and monkey alike. If we ignore the corruption of the Asura, it won't just be pockets of humans like this.. it will be a world filled with this sort of violence. So yes, Bagheera, these matters are more important." she said harshly. "Putting a bandage around a festering wound will not solve the underlying problem.."

She looked back to Amare and nodded. "Time is of the essence in this, so you may see a hint of the consequences should we fail..." she assured him. She followed him to the vehicle, not really caring for the bumpy, noisy, smelly ride again but it would get them to where they needed to be faster and they would not have to catch their breaths from running. As Amare drove, she directed him where to head and it wasn't so long before she had him stop a little ways away from the compound she had found. It would be best to approach silently, especially now that it was beginning to become dark out.

She approached the walls cautiously, checking carefully for any sign that she might have been spotted earlier or that the lone guard she had killed had been found but all seemed as silent as when she had left it. She gestured for the other two to follow her as she entered the same way she had before, jumping up on top of the wall near the gate while avoiding the barbed wire which lined the top before dropping down inside the fence. She glanced back quickly to see that her two companions could make the jump a easily before she turned back, stopping to listen. There was nothing. Just that smell, the stench of death that pervaded the whole compound. She risked another glance back to see if the others noticed.. but how could they not.

Cautiously, she led them to the one building as the scent grew overwhelming. She saw, just outside the doors, where she had been sick earlier, praying she could hold her stomach this time. At least she knew what awaited her this time. Grinding her teeth together, she steeled herself once more as she pushed open the door, taking the lead inside. Just as before, it was silent save for the buzzing hum of masses of flies. The body parts.. human and big cat all mixed, all in different states of decomposition, some swarming with maggots, still lay in piles all around. She confirmed her earlier estimates of the numbers, probably between fifty to sixty individuals. Even if the big cats hadn't been Kinfolk, these numbers still hurt their already shrinking populations, but with the added human bodies in the piles, she couldn't imagine that these all were not either Kin or Kinfolk.. or both.

Much of the floor of the warehouse was covered either with the piles or fluids that had leaked from the piles. There was also something she hadn't noticed before. There was a metal table.. with straps in the middle of the room, stained with blood and covered with flies as well. It appeared they had used this to contain their victims. There was also a file cabinet in the back corner to their right, as far away from the carnage as it could get in the building. She turned to the other two, wincing still at the smell. "So Simba, Bagheera... Do you still think that I was exaggerating the danger? Do you think this matter merely trivial?" she asked, immediately regretting speaking. She could taste the death and putrescence. She shook her head at the flies buzzing all around.

Post Re: [WtA]Bastet: Chaos Control
The Lion stopped at Enuka's discretion, jumping out of the humvee as they reached a sort of compound. The air was thick, just like the vibe radiating from the place. Amare could even feel a cold breeze, though the african night was as hot as every other night. He didn't feel at ease at all. He saw Enuka run and jump towards a wall where he quickly followed behind. The Swara easily jumped over it just as he did, avoiding the barbed wire. Though the Simba was in Sokto still, his body was more slender for his tribe. He was long limbed but not wiry, Amare was just not in any way appearing like a bodybuilder. Even in his bigger Sokto form he was agile, perhaps not as much as the cheetah, but definitely as agile as the most athletic human olympian, even more.

It was quiet.. almost too quiet. As Amare walked behind Enuka he kept a grip on his sword hilt, ready for any ambush. He looked behind him to see Adedayo following closely, nodding to the bagheera as the group walked. A foul odour reached Amare's nostrils and he could only recognize that odour as death; complete decay and death. It was much stronger than the simple stench of iron from the bodies of the militants they had just disposed before coming here. This stench was much fouler, as though it had been here for days, even weeks.

The stench grew even fouler as Enuka led them to a door. Even Amare could see that Enuka was overwhelmed by such an odour. In Sokto form the Lion definitely smelled the entire range of scents and as the cheetah opened the door, it took all of the Lions willpower not to clasp his nostrils together. Before them however, the scene was.. a little much. All types of big cats were laid before them, gutted and terribly mutilated. `The dead people here, they must be..` Amare started, feeling his choler reach close to the breaking point. The Simba could only look to Enuka, realising now why she was acting the way she was.

With a quick reaction, Amare grabbed and crushed a fly that flew too close to his dreadlocks, a look of pure disdain across his face. `So then, Enuka, what do we do now? Take me to who is responsible for this, so I can show them the meaning of justice!` he yelled, now not even caring who heard him, for he was ready now to take out whoever had a hand in this. All this time the Simba was focused on protecting the humans, for his mother was pure human and he still felt too close to her. Now, however, he realises that there was much more to the bigger picture. If he wanted to protect the humans, he had to deal with the core of the issue. Unsheathing his sword, Amare gave Enuka a look of pure anger. `I'm going to kill everybody in this compound.`

Post Re: [WtA]Bastet: Chaos Control
Adedayo listened to the swara answer her but he payed little mind to what she was saying. The Bagheera began to think to himself 'I need to learn alot of things but im pretty sure I wont need to learn that.' He looked around as they were traveling to their destination. The more he waited and waited he got more curious about what the Swara wanted him and the simba to see. Adedayo listened to Enuka give direction on where to go but wonder when he was going to go back to killing rebel leaders that use child soldiers.

When they stopped driving the bagheera began to follow the swara since he knew she probably knew which way to go was better since she has already been here. While following he looked at Amare nodding to him when he saw that the Simba was looking back at him. The Bagheera had his hand on his dagger getting ready to fight if he needed to. The more he followed the swara he soon began to smell a foul stench and soon he began to wonder where the smell was coming from. As they got closer to the source he was preparing himself for whatever he was about to see.

When they arrived at the source Adedayo looked at the piles of mutilated bodies of all types of cats. He didn't know what to think but all he could feel was regret and anger. The Bagheera looked at the others but his attention quickly turned back to the pile. He took out one of his daggers getting ready since he really wanted to show the people that did this what true pain was. He quickly looked at Amare when he spoke and listened intently waiting to see if they really were going to go confront the people that did this. He looked at the other two saying "We need to avenge them no matter how long it takes the people that did this need to die right now."

Post Re: [WtA]Bastet: Chaos Control
Enuka turned a sad look towards the Simba when his exclamation implied the realization that the remains were those of more than mere human or animals. The returned a small nod, agreeing with him that that was her suspicions as well. All too quickly, the mood of her two companions turned to rage. It was understandable, she had also felt this anger when she had first discovered this place, though the anger was currently target-less. What was important was to learn the mystery of who had done it and why. Justice could be delivered once that was done. Baseless rage at this stage would only be counter-productive. She pointed at the cabinet over to the side. "That must be searched through..." she said. "And there are others in an office outside.. Information may be in one of them." She turned to the Simba, not wanting to spend anymore time in this hell of a building than necessary. "Amare, do you think you could carry the cabinet? It would be best to all be in one area while we search, just in case." The Simba was big and strong enough looking that the thin metal cabinet would not be a burden. She did not nearly have the strength of either of the males, being built more for speed than anything else.

She was glad to finally get outside, into fresh air, though the cloying stench clung her to clothing, her hair and inside of her nose. It would take many baths to get rid of it completely... and even then, the memory of it... She shuddered as she led the way to the office she had found before. On the way, she passed the body of the guard she had killed. Blood stained the dirt, his throat cut so deeply that his head had nearly been removed. The man's uzi lay in the dust nearby. Let that show the Simba and Bagheera that she was not a helpless cub, she thought. She glanced back at the males. "I think it unlikely that anyone will return here until the morning.. but it is best to be cautious. That being said... If we wait until the morning, we can perhaps gain even more information when people arrive." She sighed. "I suspect that most working here maybe Monkeys... humans." she corrected herself. She didn't necessarily care for more humans but she was against killing innocents. "Not all may have known what was going on here.. So I will leave the decision as to what to do about this place and its people with the both of you.."

When they had reached the office, Enuka directed Adedayo and Amare to the other file cabinets, which were locked. She knew would make short order of the locking mechanism as she began to pull out papers out of the one that had been taken from the warehouse, shifting through the sheets. Suddenly she gasped. "Vivisections.." she murmured in horror. Her large eyes turned up slowly to the others. "Vivisections.. that is what they were doing on those they caught..." she said slowly. "They were cutting them apart while still alive..." Her eyes closed as she cringed. What horror they had gone through before they had died... "There are records here.. of each.. procedure as they called it. Seeing which subjects had limbs that changed form when cut off.. They were sorting through their captives, looking for Kin that were in a transformed state..." she added. She looked back to the one sheet she had. At the bottom it read : 'Status: Alive'. None of the ones she had seen where the procedure had not resulted in a transformation had the status listed as alive. They had kept only the Kin. If some had survived the mutilations, she was sure they were not here, not at this facility, not anymore. "Some may have survived..."

Post Re: [WtA]Bastet: Chaos Control
Relinquishing the tight grip on his rusted blade, Amare reluctantly sheathed his sword behind his back. There was nobody around to eliminate and simply acting on impulse was useless right now. The lion was clearheaded and calm but excitable. Once the anger flared it would be another person, nay, another being taking control. Since a child he realized that letting his emotions rule him would only cause misery to those around him and he was better than that. There was a time and place for everything and right now was not the time to act foolish. `Easy enough.` Amare responded, nodding to Enuka as he made his way towards the file cabinet.

How could he have been so blind to see that there were things of more importance, things that had to be resolved in order for his smaller vision to be realised. all of this time he was worried about protecting the humans and, for the record, still is. Though how could he hope to protect them when the bigger issue was the fact of other forces taking out the guardians in the first place. These dead, wild cats all assorted in that disgusting pile of filth, are part of these guardians. There was no doubt, confirmed by Enuka, that there were Folk among these bodies. Like it or not, Amare is not a human and he never was, no matter how hard he tries to cling to that notion. The two teenagers he had risked his own life to save had left him at the realisation of what he truly was. In truth, there was no hope for Amare to assimilate himself into human society. He was born for bigger things, even though he is a bit doubtful about that. That final image of his dead, human mother will be forever ingrained into his psyche. It is for her sake that he took himself upon such a self-righteous mission. His mother cared and loved him no matter what he had done. She could see the monster lurking behind his eyes and still embraced him tightly at night, assuring him that she would never leave his side and love him forever. It is not easy for the Lion to accept that he will have to move on to other things but these things, in tandem, will accomplish what he originally set out.

The last of his simmering rage was used to punch a hole through the top of the metal cabinet, a blow which echoed through the room with a loud clang. He would use that hole to grab the cabinet, picking it up as the troupe headed back outside, finally leaving that foul place. On the way, Amare spotted a dead human body, its throat sliced nearly clean off. He shot a glance to Enuka, certain that this was her doing. `Impressive. The bastard never even stood a chance.` he said, spotting the Uzi laying uselessly in the dirt, far from the body. The Swara's combat expertise was never truly questioned by the Lion, only her seemingly fickle nature. The last thing he wanted was for somebody whom he considered a companion to suddenly run off during something important, leaving him alone, abandoned, just like everybody else seemed to do in his life. It didn't help that the Swara boasted nearly impossible speed. Amare himself was blazingly fast but the Cheetah was something else. They may not run faster than him by a whole lot but it was enough to be a significant advantage. That just helped the Cheetah abandon him much faster, he thought. Though Enuka had shown no intention of doing so as of yet, his experiences would still have him wary about the possibility. As of now, he would gladly fight with his life on the line for her. He just hoped she would do the same.

`I'm not going to serve much use for you as far as getting information goes,` Amare started as he followed Enuka. `Honestly, you're going to have to tell me which one of these filthy pieces of shit to not utterly kill, so that you can get the information you need. If you leave it to me I'm just going to murder everyone here.` he said, making it clear that when it came time to, he was beyond conversations at this point.

When they reached the office Amare could only notice how quickly Enuka bypassed the locks on the cabinets with finesse and ease. Had it been the Lion he would have just smashed the whole thing altogether though not without some graceful movement. He put down the metal cabinet he was holding as his eyes widened. `Disgraceful!` he bellowed at such shady practices, vivisections. `Some have survived? What are they doing?! What do they hope to achieve with this?! Agh!` the lion yelled as he placed his hands on his face, pacing around the room. `This is some shady, dark stuff.` he said, calming himself down and heading towards Enuka. `What can we do about this? Does it say where they take the ones who have survived? Every second here is a second wasted. If it doesn't say there.. we're going to have wait until morning aren't we?`

Adedayo looked at the others listening to to Enuka and thought 'I would be smart to gather as much information as possible.' Adedayo looked where she pointed and then continued to follow her outside trying to figure out how something like this could be happening without anyone else knowing about it and why did they have to find out this way. He couldn't help but feel anger towards the people who did this and sadness for those that had to suffer because of them. He put his dagger away wishing he could kill the people that were involved with what happened here. The Bagheera wondered what the others had planned just in case they couldn't find the information they all were seeking. When the Bagheera saw the dead body he smiled slightly knowing that one is dead and hopefully soon more of them will join him.

When Enuka brought up about waiting till morning to get more information when more people show up the Bagheera couldn't help but smile hoping to get his hands on them prying information from them. All he could think was that they were going to be the first to feel his wrath but in his sight anyone that is here is guilty knowing what was going on or not they all deserved the same fate. Once he heard what to do with the people was his and Amare's choice he spoke out saying "They all deserve to die so what I think we should do is question them then we kill them." Adedayo didn't want to show any of them mercy because they didn't show the victims any mercy so they deserved none in his eyes.

When they arrived at the office he followed Enuka to the cabinets and watched as the dealt with the locks not thinking anything of how she did it since he was just waiting for her to find any information. He was waiting impatiently as she went through sheets until he heard her and listened to what she was saying intently. He couldn't believe what they did to the victims. All the Bagheera could think was how he was going to make them suffer for what they did. Once he heard that some may have survived he quickly spoke out saying "After we are done here need to find out where they are."
